Tonight, my son's team had a double header. They played their hearts out and came back to tie the game against one of the hardest teams in the league. My son had an awesome hit, run and also made same amazing outs. He's a great player, but tonight I'm proud of him and his team.
They welcomed the opportunity to play a non-league game with a special needs team. The boys were out there helping the other boys through some plays, whether it was helping them hit, helping the boys catch the outs, encouraging them and cheering them on. It was sweet to watch the care and compassion that the boys treated their special-needs teammates with, and a very rewarding experience for themselves that helps to reinforce the idea of sportsmanship.
All of the boys had the best time and it fills my heart with so much pride to see them playing the sport together! 💜💜
