I have always loved doing those one month themed photo challenges, so it's only appropriate that I'm super excited about a fitness photo challenge! Join me in the challenge, with the hashtag #onerollchallenge!!
This kid, right here... ran 1.5 miles in 10:59! That is a phenomenal time and I'm so proud and impressed by his running ability. Maybe he should train me for my races 😜 I love you buddy!
Happy 4th birthday to my sweet, little girl! You're a true original - funny, sassy, so caring and always wanting to help others feel better by giving hugs. I love that you come up with songs for everything, even about the most mundane things! Love that you've always got a song in your heart. You are a blessing to our family and we love your sassy self! Happy birthday, honey!
Grandma, I cannot believe it's already been one year since you left us. There's not a day goes by that I don't think about you, and I miss you terribly, we all miss you. I miss your stories, the sparkle in your eye, your laughter. You continue to be a ray of light in our lives, and a beacon of how I want to live my life. If there was ever anyone that I would want to be like, it's you - loving, kind, selfless, always helping others, living to love and laugh. God, family, faith. Those were the most important things for you, and I loved nothing more than having you for my great-grandmother. I miss you so much and wish, more than anything, that I could hear your voice and give you one last hug. I love you.
Happy 9th anniversary, babe! I seriously can't believe that it's been 9 years, but we've definitely grown and come a long way from when we first started dating! We have a beautiful family that I'm very proud of, and married to a good man who does everything with his family in mind. Love our crazy times, love our quiet and relaxing times. Most of all, I love getting to do this thing called life with you, babe, and here's to many more!
When in the world did our kids get to be 7th graders? My husband and I remember when they were little and in, like, the third grade! We are so proud of our two oldest and excited to see them grow even more over this next school year! We love you both so much!
A prayer for our children:
Thank you for the gift of our children.
Please watch over them as they go back to school, and protect them from negative influences.
Help them be a light to others, and help them show lover, care and respect to their teachers and friends.
Please protect them from bullies, but if they face one, give them courage to stand up for themselves and for others.
Help them to remember when they are nervous or afraid, You are there with them. As much as I love my children, You love them even more, and I know You will be watching out for them.
Happy birthday to my first born, my only son! You're a remarkable person, buddy, with a heart of gold. I love your enthusiasm for sports, family and God! I'm very proud of the young man you are becoming and love you for being you! You are a blessing to our family and we hope you have the best year yet, honey!
How are we already half way through 2016?! The kids have been out of school for a month already, it's almost the 4th of July - one of my very favorite holidays! It's only 6 weeks from my half marathon! I wish time would slow down!
Maybe it's not time that needs to slow down, maybe it me that needs to slow down. I'm a big "everything needs a plan of action" person and list person and a by the clock person... maybe I need to stop trying to plan so much, and trying to do too much in such short spans of time. Less planning, and just more doing, more appreciating, more enjoying. Not that I haven't enjoyed, or appreciate or completed things in the past, but really stopping to smell the roses. Take time out to stop and appreciate what our 3 YO is marveling at - whether it's the lady bugs in our garden, or the birds she hears singing. Take time out to stop and really listen to what our son is saying - whether it's something about baseball or sports that he's super-passionate about (and that I have no clue about!), but being engaged. Take time out to stop and connect with our oldest daughter - she's growing into a beautiful young woman, and I'm already missing the little girl she was, but explore her passions and help her grow. Take time out to focus on being a better wife and partner to my husband. Take time out to help others.
This past month, I have been so time-consumed with summer classes, full-time work schedule, trying to maintain my training schedule and feel like I haven't "been there" or necessarily "in the moment" because of worrying about getting everything else done. That's going to end. I will be more focused on my family and those who I love, I will not worry about getting this or that done, I will not over-plan or over-schedule myself or my family.
I really love following the Hands Free Mama and her blogs and facebook posts. I feel like this is someone that I can relate to, who has been-there, done that... and has inspired me to be a better mom and wife. I definitely encourage you to check out her site at: www.handsfreemama.com and see how she might inspire you, on this amazing journey called life!

I feel like 2015 was, overall, a pretty good year for me! I found this great printable over at ThirtyHandMadeDays, and thought that it was a great way to recap some of the highlights of 2015, as well as what we're looking forward to continuing in 2016 as well as some new goals! Can't wait to see what everyone writes down on New Year's Eve!
For me, 2015 was a good year:
As I look forward to 2016, I'm very excited for the potential of this new year!
I'm excited to see what God has in store for my family and I this next year, and thank Him for the blessed year that we have had!

This year we are staying home for New Year's Eve. We usually go to family or friend's houses, but my MIL is sick :( and she needs to rest, so we're keeping it quiet and comfy this year. BUT that does not mean that we can't still have fun! After browsing through pinterest for some really great ideas for family-friendly NYE's, this is what I have come up with!! I've got to run to the dollar store for some of the little things, but otherwise, we have everything else at home!
My plan is to take some of the brown paper sacks that we have at home and print the times on them, and fill with just a few trinkets of some kind along with what we are doing for that period of time. For example, when it comes time to make the hats and glasses, I will fill the bags with not only the activity description, but also some of the materials to make it like the glitter, sequins, etc! For the baking part, I will include sprinkles and frosting. For the games, maybe a piece of candy when they're playing candy land, etc. Just trying to think of fun ways to keep it fun and entertaining! So, check it out and let me know what you think! Feel free to use some (or all) of the ideas I've listed here!
