So, with the new plan that I've found, I'm in the gym five days a week and I'm loving it! I go early in the morning, like 5:00 am early, because that is the only time that works for me and my busy family's schedule; there's too much going on after work/school to try and take an hour out to go to the gym then. Plus, I've worked all day and want to be around my family, I miss them <3. Anyways, the plan has me doing weights four days out of the five, with the last day being cardio only. Lemme just say that the first week was absolutely killer... I was sore everywhere and "found" some muscles that obviously I hadn't worked in a while!
I've had to put any race training to the side, because strength training, building muscle and toning up are my focus right now. Besides, after I shed the weight, I should be able to run easier and faster, leading to more productive race training and racing!
Since I'm turning 34 in a few months (wth... 34?! I don't feel 34!!) I was trying to challenge myself to "lose 34 by 34"... Not sure if that's an attainable goal, but why not shoot for it? With the right mind set, my goals defined, and family and friends who support me, I can do anything!
