Happy 12th birthday to our oldest daughter! You have such a sweet spirit and genuine heart, definitely have a bit of a goofy side (a-hem, Miranda Sings!), and love to laugh! You bring light and laughter to our home, your sister adores you, your brother loves having someone so close in age to hang and have fun with! I love that you will join me in crazy crafting ideas, and I love watching the bond that you and your daddy have (especially over anything F&F!). We may not all be of the same blood, but you are ours, and we are yours, and together we have it all! God has many great things in store for you and we cannot wait to see what your future holds! We love you!! Happy birthday, beautiful! Can't wait to celebrate you this weekend!!
Last week, my sister welcomed her second child! They did not find out the baby's gender until birth.... Well, there was one person who knew and that was my great-grandma. When we realized that my grandmother wasn't doing well, my sister asked her OB to write down the baby's gender and seal it in an envelope, then gave the envelope to her neighbor to mail to my grandmother. So, before she passed away, she knew the baby's gender and it was spot on with what she was hoping for!
Without further ado, please welcome a handsome little guy, John Luke! He's already got my kiddos and I in love with him! My son says he cant wait to teach him how to toss a ball, and all that guy stuff! My baby girl just couldn't get enough of him and kept giving sweet kisses and wanting to hold him! There definitely was not shortage of family who wanted to hold him! We love you baby John!!
Happy, happy 3rd birthday to our beautiful, sassy, too-smart-for-her-own-good, delightful little girl! It is amazing to see how much joy, love and laughter (and craziness!) you have brought into our family and our home. I love that you're developing your own opinions, with most everything you try ending with "that's dis-gus-ting!!" You have to hear her say it, seriously exaggerated and way too cute! Your smile and laugh make us melt
I love that she has so much love to give, always singing with a song in her heart. I love when we go for our evening walks and she picks the little purple-white flowers that most people would consider a weed, but to her, she picks it and gives it to me because "purple is your favorite color, mommy!" She absolutely adores her bubba and sissy, and has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.
Happy birthday pumpkin, we love you, always and forever!
Tonight, my son's team had a double header. They played their hearts out and came back to tie the game against one of the hardest teams in the league. My son had an awesome hit, run and also made same amazing outs. He's a great player, but tonight I'm proud of him and his team.
They welcomed the opportunity to play a non-league game with a special needs team. The boys were out there helping the other boys through some plays, whether it was helping them hit, helping the boys catch the outs, encouraging them and cheering them on. It was sweet to watch the care and compassion that the boys treated their special-needs teammates with, and a very rewarding experience for themselves that helps to reinforce the idea of sportsmanship.
All of the boys had the best time and it fills my heart with so much pride to see them playing the sport together! 💜💜
It is back to school today for our older two, both of whom are in 6th grade and starting their first year in middle school. I am super proud of our kids, but also a little more than anxious to know how their first day goes.
These two back to school prayers are the perfect way to start our year; one for our kiddos and one for the educators who will be with them this year.
Hoping you all have another fun and successful school year!
Happy birthday to our wild and crazy son! You light up my life and always make me laugh! You're not afraid to have fun and be silly, have the most sincere and genuine heart, so caring and thoughtful, passionate about family and definitely baseball! You are a true blessing to our family and we love you so much, buddy! We are lucky to be your parents and are so proud of you. We love you always and forever!
We are so proud of our two oldest, both of whom just finished fifth grade (and their last year of elementary *sniffle sniffle*)!! They have both done remarkably well in their class grades, all of their extracurricular activities, as well as forging lasting friendships before heading off to middle school next year.
James and Aubz-
We are so proud of you, so proud of the young adults that you are becoming, your love of family, friends and school. Next year will bring new adventures, new friends and we are excited for this new chapter in your lives.
We love you both, always!
We have had more than our fair share of lightning and thunderstorms here in North Texas recently, and last night was no exception! It was, however, the first time that our 2 1/2 year old has mentioned being scared of it. She crawled into our bed and snuggled up with me while we talked that thunder is really just the angels bowling and playing games, and lightning is really angels taking selfies! Every time it would lightning, she would say "aw! So cute!" Or "they're taking selfies again!" It seemed to calm her and she was able to fall asleep quickly. It was just too cute not to share!
Have a great day!!
I absolutely love the magic of the Christmas season! Each year, I'm just like a little kid again, except that I swear it's ten times more fun when you're a parent and able to enjoy the fun and festivities of the season with your kids!
However, with everything that happens in these brief few weeks (such as shopping for gifts, wrapping those gifts, planning and going to parties, planning and serving Christmas dinner, hosting family in from out of town), it's really easy to lose perspective of the season. This particular post is really a compilation of multiple thoughts but what it boils down to is how to organize your Christmas calendar with events, activities and have everything nailed down, so us mama's don't stress (as much!).
Today, our oldest turns 11! Happy birthday Aubz! We love you! When I look at the family pictures we took a couple of weeks ago, I see a beautiful young lady standing where our little girl was just a few years ago.
You have a kind and gentle heart, you're super-talented, have a great sense of humor and always quick to smile. You are a great friend, loving daughter and awesome big sister! I am blessed and thankful that I became your step-mom, that we are family! We are so proud of you, your achievements and the beautiful person you are! We love you, honey, and can't wait to celebrate your birthday!
