Our kiddos will be finished with their school year in just a little over two weeks. I don't know who is more excited, the parents or the kids! We will be having an action-packed, fun-filled summer, so we need to get busy and start some planning!
First, I want to be sure to give lots of credit to the following sites, for providing so many fun ideas, organizers and printables! Love each of these sites!

Also, below are some printables (some found at the above sites and some that I created) that I think will be super-helpful in planning and organizing your summer adventures!
This first printable, we've used to help brainstorm some ideas that we would like to do. Some of the things on the list are super-easy, leisurely and don't need to be planned out - like playing in the sprinklers or eating popsicles. But, it does get us thinking about some of the bigger events that may need more planning, such as hosting a BBQ, camping, etc.

The second printable I pulled from MyFrugalAdventures.com website. After we get done brainstorming some ideas, we can each create our own list of what we individually would enjoy doing! Then, pool these ideas together to see what would make great family events, maybe some mom/daughter, dad/son, dad/daughter, mom/son date ideas would come out of this as well!
Then, after you've completed that task - use the printables below to help guide you as far as what theme/idea to do each day. I love that, even though we are working parents, we are still able to maintain a fun calendar throughout the week and not just on weekends. We get some serious craft time in, continue with reading during the summer, some time for the kiddos to be creative in the kitchen, service and charity work as well as just for fun days! It should hopefully be pretty easy to take the ideas that you all came up with as a family and start plugging them in to the weekly planner below.
Or, you could use this same theme shown above - but chart it out in a monthly calendar format. I have created some summer calendars, which I think are supercute, to help with the summer planning! It really incorporates everything into one easy spot! See below for the printables.

Then, if you still have kiddos saying that they're bored... check out the BORED printable below. On top of that, in our home, our kids have their own bored jar that includes some fun activities sprinkled in with some chores... so they are already pretty careful about saying "I'm bored!" ;)
I especially love FreebieFindingMom's website for summer ideas, since it seems so comprehensive. Seriously go check out her website! It includes all sorts of ideas, entertainment spots, outdoorsy places, even has a site that will tell parents what restaurant is having deals on which days! Invaluable resource site for any family trying to stick to a budget this summer!
These resources and printable will really help us to create a meaningful summer full of fun, love and memories! Hope you are as excited about summer as we are!
